At an energized Tiger Gym on Tuesday night, Dec. 8, the Smithville Tigers outlasted the Moulton Bobcats 59-51 in a pure team effort. The Tigers had 10 scoring players, and they were able to keep their opponents from getting ahead.

A couple lost their home early Thursday morning when a fire, believed to have started from a Christmas tree, burned most of the structure, according to Bill Laird, Bastrop Volunteer Fire Department district chief.
