The Lost Pines Chapter NSDAR held its Christmas Social on Saturday, December 19, 2009 in the Community Room of Chamber of Commerce building in Elgin, TX.
Sue Lane McCulley reported that the essay contests winners will attend our March meeting. Mary Lucas and Michelle Kee reported on Project Patriot. Five boxes of assorted items were sent oversees to our service men and women. Attendees shared their “Favorite Christmas Memory” as requested by Vice Regent Michelle Kee of Elgin. Hostesses, Marjorie Matetzschk, Judy Campbell and Joan Miller, were thanked. Those present received a decorated pine cone that had been part of the table decorations.
Important dates and things to remember:
. Officers and Committee Chairmen should bring their reports to the Annual Meeting.
. Nominations/Elections of Delegates and Alternates will take place at the Annual Meeting.
. Wave “Old Glory” on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 18th), Lincoln’s Birthday (February 12th), Presidents’ Day (February 15th), and Washington’s Birthday (February 22nd).
. Most of our regular meetings are held on the 3rd Saturday of each month September through May.
. Bring aluminum pull tabs to be donated to McDonald House and also, Box Top, Campbell Soup and other coupons that we donate to our DAR schools.
Our Annual Business meeting will be held in the Community Room of the 1st National Bank on Main Street in Smithville, Texas, on Saturday, January 16, 2010. We gather at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments and the meeting begins promptly at 10 a.m. Our hostesses will be Bethany and Jeannie Weigl.
