OBIT Harold Gilmore scanHarold  “Bubby” Gilmore of Bastrop, Texas passed away at the age of 60 on January 7, 2010 after a brief battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife, Sherri. He is also mourned by his brother, Larry and wife Charlotte of Springfield, MO, their children Tim Gilmore, and his son Christopher, Sonya and David Pfitzner with their children Kayla and Kylie. Bubby is also missed by his mother-in-law, June Wells of Plainview, TX, his sister-in-law, Kathy Cummings and her husband Doug, his brother-in-law, Brent Wells and wife Lori, and their children Laney, Hallie, and Karley, and his Godchildren Nicole and Jered Rabensburg.

His many friends, along with his beloved pets, Lucky and Cleo, will cherish his memory and will miss his wit and companionship.

Bubby is preceded in death by his parents Betty and Harold Gilmore.
Bubby was born in Springfield, Missouri on July 3, 1949. He lived life to the fullest and provided many happy moments to his friends and family with his enjoyment of the outdoors, baseball, fishing, hunting, and racing motorcycles.

He moved to Texas 30 years ago, where he met his wife and enjoyed 15 years of devoted companionship. Bubby became a talented cook, a skilled carpenter, and a collector of all the latest gadgets. Bubby was always entertaining his friends by demonstrating his devices and innovative ideas, and by sharing his culinary concoctions.

Throughout his life, he always had a dog and has rescued many animals. Bubby had numerous friends and never said anything bad about anyone. Bubby was a member of the Church of Christ. The family would like to thank Texas Oncology for all of the loving care he received there.
Memorial services were held at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas on Monday, January 11, 2010. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or your charity of choice
