Earlier in January, Tiger Band members traveled to Waco to compete in the Area level audition for All-State Band. At the contest, Morgan Vinklarek placed 15th in unified percussion, Sarah Pryor placed sixth on contra bass clarinet, Jared Youts placed fourth on bass trombone, and Andrew Lowery placed second on bassoon. Matthew Swartz earned a position in the All-State Band by placing second overall on the trumpet. Matthew will be representing Smithville High School the second week of February in San Antonio as he rehearses and performs with the Texas All-State Band.
