A sort of monumental event occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 23 – snow! Some of the teachers allowed their students to go outside and witness what was happening, as well as play in the snow.

Debate
The debate team traveled to Aubrey on Wednesday, Feb. 24 for a tournament and got back on Saturday night.
The tournament was the LBJ NFL (National Forensics League) district competition. It is the largest NFL district in the entire nation.
Students that advance from this portion of the competition go to the national competition. In the cross-examination event, three teams have the ability to advance, and of the three teams going to nationals, two of them are from Smithville.
The teams of Chris Leonardi and I, as well as Garrett Morrell and Colin Daily, will be going to nationals.
Chris Leonardi and I have TFA state coming up and then both teams have UIL state later on.
After all of this has passed, the teams will be traveling to Kansas City, Missouri for NFL nationals.
