At the Yoakum meet this past Saturday, Smithville’s boys and girls track teams each took fourth place out of 21 teams. The Tigers came out with a total of 87 points, while the Lady Tigers had 68 overall.

Boys

Tiger Breion Brown placed second in shot put and fourth in discus.
Meanwhile, Wade Childress took sixth in long jump, while Ronald Cook came in third in high jump.
As for triple jump, Jordan Runnels placed third. He also came in third in the 100-meter dash.
Brice Nieto came in a close second in the 400-meter dash.
In the relay portion of the meet, Jacorey Lincoln, Trevor Elam, Shane Groff and Runnels pulled off fourth place in the 400-meter relay.
For the 800-meter relay, Cook, Runnels, Elam and Groff came in first.
Lastly, in the 1600-meter relay, Elam, Groff, Nieto and Cook placed first as well.

Girls

As for the girls, Magen Weinheimer took second in shot put and fifth in discus.
Meanwhile, Anna Spangler placed fourth in the 300-meter hurdles and second in the triple jump.
For the 800-meter run, Shelby Davee took third, and she came in fifth in the 400-meter dash.
Rachael Davee placed third in the 3200-meter run, Alex Moffatt fifth in the 100-meter hurdles and Julia Kubicek fifth in high jump.
Lady Tigers Kubicek, Trina Deyo, Maygan Washington and Tiyanna Sampson pulled together and came in fourth in the 400-meter relay.
As for the 800-meter relay, Kubicek, Moffatt, Washington and Sampson came in fourth as well.
Lastly, coming in third were Ashley Cardwell, Rachael Davee, Shelby Davee and Spangler for the 1600-meter relay.
