There are raffle tickets currently being sold for Project Graduation, which is a lock-in for Smithville High School seniors at Chestnut Square during the night following graduation. Parents of seniors are selling the tickets, which cost $5 each or 5 for $20. Drawing winners will be announced at Jamboree.

Tennis
The Tiger tennis team had their regional team tennis tournament last Friday in Katy. In team tennis, the first of two teams to win 10 matches wins overall.
During the first round, Smithville played Sweeny and won 10-8, making it to the winners bracket.
In the second round, the Tigers played West Columbia, who beat them 10-8.
In the final round, Smithville played for fifth and sixth place against Edna and won 10-9, taking fifth place.
There a few more tournaments coming up before Tiger tennis goes to district in April.

Debate

The SHS debate team has the Texas Forensics Association state competition coming up soon and will be participating in the UIL state competition shortly after.
At the most recent tournament, James Landon won first place in the Lincoln-Douglas debate.

Academics

Smithville UIL academics participants had a practice meet in Brenham last week and took small school sweepstakes.
