Dinner and Dancing

This Saturday, March 13, a benefit will be held at the Rockne VFW for Jacquie Reeder, to offset medical expenses due to cancer. Jacquie is a Rockne resident who works for Texas Parks and Wildlife and formerly worked at both Leon’s Country Store and Kouba and Associates.

The evening will begin with barbecue plates being sold for $7 at 5 p.m. until it runs out, followed by a live auction at 7 p.m.

Then, stick around for a dance with live music by Herman Goertz and Mark Lee.

Grand Opening

Speaking of Mark Lee (which I often do since he is my better half), he will be having a special grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Mark Lee Insurance Agency on Wednesday, March 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. Mark’s cousin, Royce Lee opened the business in 1990 and when Royce decided to retire, Mark was happy to take over  and keep it in the family.

The agency is located in Bastrop at 702 Pine St.

Come on out and join us and grab some snacks and balloons for the kids.
