Janey Marie Carey Stout, 98, died June 28, 2010. She was born in Kingsland, Ark. on Sept. 24, 1911 to Robert Emmett Carey and Jeanette Nettie Workman Carey. She was a longtime resident of Friendswood before retiring to Smithville.

She is preceded in death by parents; husband, Allen Cicero Stout; son, Arthur Lee Stout; sisters, Willie Mae and Lillie Lorene; brother, Johnnie Ray; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.

She is survived by sister, Susie Bernice Carey Shoemake; three grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and five great-great-granddaughters.

Funeral services were held July 2.
