Lady Tiger Lindsay Carver, who played JV last year, had a solid game against Schulenburg on Tuesday, Aug. 17 at home, totaling with five kills.
On Tuesday, Aug. 17, the Lady Tigers fell to the Schulenburg Lady Horns 15-25, 11-25, 14-25 after being put up to a challenge by the Lady Horns’ outside hitter.
“Their outside hitter is being recruited by Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida, Baylor and Rice,” said head coach Kimberly Paisley. “She plays year-round and her talents shine. Collectively as a team, they play well together and really just find her on the court to put the ball away, which she consistently did.”
Smithville fell to their opponents in all three games, despite strong efforts from Lindsay Carver and Colline Morrell.
Carver came out with five kills, while Morrell totaled in five assists.
Taylor Weldon also had a standout game with three kills, as did Samantha Campos with three assists.
“Our game tempo is not up to speed yet and we are currently working on our offense by speeding it up – this will make us more effective,” Paisley said.
