Lolie McCorquodale: Paige News

What a long and happy birthday weekend I had starting last Thursday.

I went fishing with some great friends, N.G. and Julie, for three days and then had a wonderful night with my son Chris and his family.

The Lord made grandchildren so you could cuddle on the sofa and watch children’s movies!

I visited with more friends on Sunday night. Thank you, friends and family, for making me feel so special.

I now own a R. E. Conley original oil painting from the artist himself. Conley won the people’s choice award at the Lost Pines Art Alliance this year. Thank you Bobby for painting that for me.

And I would like to thank my boy Jonathan for working for Bobby to pay for the frame. I am so blessed.

Washer News

Kenny Ray and Glenn Albrecht braved the heat and won first place and the money at the Fedor Fire Department washer pitching contest.

Congratulations guys!

Andrea (Sissy) Ray is home again from the hospital.

She recently had surgery on a herniated disc in her back on July 20 at St David’s Hospital in Austin. After complications and two more tries, it looks like they finally got it fixed.

We are all thinking about you and praying for a speedy recovery.

Founders Day

Paige Founders Day will be held on Sept. 11 at the Paige Community Center.

The barbecue meal starts at 11:30 a.m. and there will be homemade desserts, including brownies, from the Paige 4-H Club.

The reunion of Paige school students is held in conjunction with the Paige Founders Day each year.

Paige 4-H News

The next 4-H meeting has changed due to the Bastrop County 4-H  Banquet.

They will now be meeting on Sunday, Aug. 29 at 4:30 p.m.

The 4-H needs to put together a basket for the fire department fundraiser on Oct. 9. They will also discuss the Paige Founders Day lunch.

Thought

It is a wonderful seasoning of all enjoyments to think of those we love.
