The Friends of the Science Park will be taking another step towards supporting the mission of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Science Park – Research Division to “make cancer history” on Saturday, Sept. 25 with the first-ever “Cure on the Colorado” fundraiser.
The event will take place at Vernon L. Richards Riverbend Park just outside of Smithville and will feature Texas barbeque, live and silent auctions, a cash bar and a double-set live show by acoustic performers Mark Cosgrove and the duo John Kirk and Trish Miller.
Gates open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The silent auction will be open from 5-9 p.m., and the live auction will take place from 7:15-7:45 p.m.
Admission price per person is $25 pre-sale and $35 at the gate, which includes dinner, live entertainment and access to the auctions.
Tickets are available locally at the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce, Bastrop Chamber of Commerce or from members of Friends of the Science Park. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.frontgatetick

Tickets purchased via Front Gate Tickets will include a small service fee.
