• On Aug. 27, officer Greg Stewart detained a juvenile male for the offense of Evading Arrest or Detention. The juvenile was processed and then released to his mother. The case is pending with Bastrop Juvenile Probation.
• On Aug. 28, officer Luis Medrano was dispatched to the 200 block of Rivers Street for a verbal disturbance in progress and while investigating the disturbance, it was determined that Randy Brenton Deloach had alledgedly committed the offense of Assault causing bodily injury to a family member. Deloach was arrested for the above offense and was given a $15,000 bond by judge Ronald Jones.
• On Aug. 29, officer Michael Kirkwood was dispatched the 400 block of Walker Street to a fight in progress and while investigating the incident, it was determined that Terrance Murray was alledgedly a danger to himself or others due to his level of intoxication. Murray was arrested for Public Intoxication and was later fined $247 by judge Ronald Jones.
• Alert: Make sure your windows are rolled up and your vehicle doors are locked before you retire for the night. Remove or hide any valuables inside your vehicle. Never leave your purse or wallet or any visible loose change or money inside your vehicle. Remove laptops, cameras and any other type of electronic equipment to decrease the likelihood of becoming a burglary victim. It is also a good idea to leave a light on or install motion lights near your vehicles.
• Traffic warning about the route around the elementary and junior high school: Bishop Street is one-way north from Sixth Street to Ninth Street. Ninth Street is one-way east from Bishop to Wilkes, and Wilkes is one-way south from Ninth to Sixth.
There are signs posted just below the stop signs telling you what direction you can go. After this week, the police department will begin writing citations for these violations.
