On Tuesday, Aug. 31, the Smithville Lady Tiger volleyball team won its second game of the season at Luling, 25-18, 25-17 and 25-18.
The Lady Tigers (2-8) have had a tough ride so far this season, so Tuesday’s game was refreshing for the players, as well as head coach Kimberly Paisley.
“The varsity took care of business against Luling in all three sets,” Paisley said. “Our communication and hustle won this game. It was great and we must build on it.”
Madison Hannusch had one of her best games of the season, finishing with 12 blocks and seven kills.
Meanwhile, setter Trina Deyo also had an outstanding game, contributing a total of nine kills and five assists.
Libero Britany Shackelford, who totaled with 12 digs and two aces, was another standout player.
